Early Childhood at IST: Where Curiosity Begins

Our Early Childhood program—spanning Junior Pre-K (age 3) through Kindergarten—is designed to ignite a lifelong love of learning. More than just a preschool, IST offers a nurturing, engaging environment where curiosity, creativity, and independence are cultivated from day one. Grounded in the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, our youngest learners explore the world through play-based, inquiry-led activities that build confidence, spark imagination, and encourage meaningful connections.

With intentionally small class sizes and a child-centered approach, students at IST are known, valued, and supported. Early exposure to languages—including Spanish and Mandarin—broadens their worldview and builds communication skills from an early age. As part of our inquiry-based learning model, children ask questions, investigate answers, and reflect on their discoveries—laying the foundation for their journey as IB scholars.

Our Early Childhood classrooms are dynamic spaces where stories are shared, friendships are formed, and meaningful learning unfolds daily. Whether it’s an outdoor exploration, time in the STEM lab, a bilingual story circle, or a collaborative art project, our students are growing academically, socially, and emotionally. Through this balance of structure and spontaneity, they develop resilience, empathy, and the confidence to take thoughtful risks—hallmarks of an IB learner.

At IST, we believe learning should be joyful, purposeful, and rooted in wonder. That belief starts here, in our Early Childhood program, where each child is empowered to explore the world—and their place in it—with curiosity, compassion, and courage.
