Job Description: Elementary School Lead Teacher
The International School of Texas (IST) announces its search for a full-time Lead Teacher to begin duties in August 2022. This position’s primary responsibility will be to teach PYP (Primary Years Programme) students. We are accepting applications for teachers at all grade levels.

IST students become lifelong learners as they progress through the PYP program, learning in a collaborate and inquiry-based environment. The primary responsibility of this position is to teach a grade level class and collaborate with IST’s subject area specialist educators (including STEM, Art, Physical Education, Spanish, and Mandarin) to ensure student engagement and curriculum alignment. Preference will be given to teachers with experience teaching in an International Baccalaureate School.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The Lead Teacher must have experience teaching in the primary years. The successful candidate should have experience integrating curriculum with authentic, inquiry-based or project-based learning. This position requires basic computer knowledge.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field.
- Teaching Certification.
- Two or more years of Primary teaching experience.
- Pedagogical best practices with SEL/Mindfulness.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- International Baccalaureate experience is preferred but not required
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Pay: $50,000–$65,000 per year, dependent on experience.

Job Description: Marketing and Communications Specialist
The International School of Texas (IST) is hiring a Marketing and Communications Specialist who will be an integral part of the Marketing and Admissions team. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing IST’s strategic marketing campaigns locally and statewide which includes advertising, public relations, social media, and internal communications. A key priority of this position is to highlight via print, online and social media the diverse, welcoming, engaging, International Baccalaureate community at IST as it builds a modern campus for tomorrow’s leaders on its property in Bee Cave.
IST is an independent, not-for-profit, private school teaching students from age 3 through Grade 8. The Marketing and Communications Specialist will be a member of IST’s leadership team and will regularly engage with its student body and community of families and teachers. Positivity, along with strong writing, collaboration and interpersonal skills are a must.
The Marketing and Communications Specialist is a full-time role and will report to the Head of School.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop, implement, and evaluate a strategic and cohesive communications, marketing, and storytelling strategy across all communications platforms that increases IST’s brand presence, visibility, and influence with internal and external audiences.
· Research, plan, direct, and execute a strategic communications and marketing plan that supports IST’s goals and enhances its image locally and across the state.
· Create and distribute external communications pieces, including press releases, advertorials, and sponsored content.
· Develop and send internal communications pieces, including weekly newsletter and other internal communications to the student/parent body.
· Oversee creation and placement of strategic advertising to reach IST audiences.
· Identifying and building relationships with new and existing editors, reporters, producers, and bloggers to increase media coverage of IST, and drive editorial story planning, writing, and pitching to local and state press.
· Oversee the creation of content for various platforms including printed publications, web, social media, in-person events, etc.
· Oversee content management of the website to keep it current and engaging.
· Oversee development and maintenance of IST’s image library; scheduling and coordinating photo shoots to ensure image library is current and reflective of the school’s community.
· Establish guidelines and standards for print, digital, and other public communication materials which convey IST’s brand identity effectively and reflective of the school’s mission and vision.
· Prepare monthly marketing reports for Board of Trustees meetings.
· Plan and execute in-person events, both on-campus family events and off-campus public events, student concerts, student art displays, etc.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field
· 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations
· Experience implementing print, online, and social media strategies
· Proven experience operating within a marketing budget and expense guidelines
· Basic website management skills
· Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members
· Positive and enthusiastic attitude
· Excellent writing and verbal communications skills
· Self-motivated, also able to motivate others and foster teamwork
· Creativity and attention to detail
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
· Experience working in an educational environment
· Experience working in an IB or international school, a plus
· Experience working with vendors including web developers and graphic designers
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
· Proficient in Canva
· Working knowledge of HTML/CSS is preferred
· Experience implementing Search Engine Optimization, a plus
· Basic photography experience, a plus
