Strategic Plan Launched

We are proud to announce the launch of our first 5-Year Strategic Plan, Forging Our Future, setting the course for the International School of Texas from 2024 to 2029. This plan marks a pivotal moment in IST’s history: following a decade of achievements, the completion of our new campus, and the establishment of our high school program, we are ready to take on the next stage of our journey together.

The development of Forging Our Future has been a collaborative effort, built on nearly a year of discussions among trustees and our Strategic Institutional Review committee, who dedicated countless hours to shaping this plan. We are deeply grateful for their commitment and insights, and for the engagement of our community at every step.

Strategic Institutional Review Report

We invite you to explore this strategic roadmap as we work towards transforming IST into an institution that realizes its mission with excellence, ambition, and integrity. Together, we look forward to Forging Our Future!

The Trailblazer Fund

At the International School of Texas, we believe that a child’s potential to change the world is limitless. This is our north star: to prepare the next generation of globally minded problem solvers for their futures – whatever path they choose.

As we grow in our new, state-of-the-art campus, we are providing our students with a winning formula: excellent teachers, robust curriculum and real-world experiences that challenge and support globally minded problem solvers so they will thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Your tax-deductible gift to IST today takes us one step closer to our shared vision of excellence, by supporting the educators, hands-on learning projects, and real-world experiences that will benefit today’s Trailblazers for a lifetime:

  • Beloved teachers who inspire joy and learning into their classrooms
  • Vital arts, athletics programs, and extracurriculars so students can build communication and collaboration skills
  • Social and emotional intelligence needed to handle future challenges
  • Opportunities to learn global languages taught by native speakers
  • Experiences transforming a passion or curiosity into an impactful real-world project
  • A safe learning environment in this beautiful facility and so much more.

Like most independent schools, the International School of Texas is not fully funded by tuition and fees alone. This year, we have the wonderful fortune of our new campus facilities, but they also bring with them a substantial increase in our operating costs. The difference between what is covered by tuition and fees and the real cost of an IST education this year is about $4,800 per student. Your gift today can help us meet the goal of covering this tuition gap and keep us on a path to excellence.

Regardless of the amount you choose to give, our goal is 100% participation: every family, every staff member, every year. Full participation from this school’s family sends a strong signal to foundations that consider that metric in their giving as we plan our future campaigns.

IST has great ambitions: giving our Trailblazers the best education; new athletics and extracurricular programs; refined service projects that connect to student passions; and a path to graduate seniors in 2028.

Your gift – including those matched by employers – provides the resources needed to enhance our classrooms and deliver on the ambitious vision we have for our current and future Trailblazers.

Please join me in making a gift to educate and inspire the next generation of globally minded problem solvers today!

Here’s to blazing new trails!

We are hosting Under the Oaks Forums throughout the year, focusing on different topics related to child development, student well-being, school vision and strategic planning, and more.

Notably, our January forum will be a book club, discussing “The Anxious Generation” by Jonathan Haidt.
