Magda Fazio |

Magda, her husband Michael, and their daughter Anastasia moved to Austin after spending five wonderful years living in London, UK. After researching IB schools in the Austin area and following a brief visit to IST during a holiday break, they knew immediately that IST was the only school for them. Originally from Chicago, Magda had the good fortune of growing up in a beautiful, dynamic, and multi-cultural city. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University Chicago, followed by a Master of Science degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where she studied non-profit management as well as direct clinical practice with children, youth, and families. Magda began her professional career as a caseworker, working with abused and neglected children and adolescents with severe behavioral disorders. She worked as a grant writer for New School University and was the Director of Development for The Kosciuszko Foundation, both in New York City. Magda also worked as both a Major Gifts Officer and the Director of Development and Alumni Relations at the Lubin School of Business, Pace University, where she along with other school directors helped to raise over $100 million for the school’s capital campaign. Although no longer working professionally, Magda still enjoys being involved in the field of development, having spent time consulting small, non-profit organizations, serving briefly on the development committee of The Contemporary Museum Austin, and currently serving as the co-chair of the development committee on IST’s Board of Trustees. In her spare time, Magda enjoys travel, music, dance, theater, and art.
