Brian Couch, Ed.M. |

Originally from Indiana, I have had the opportunity to live in a wide variety of places and pursue numerous different professions. I have studied or worked in fields such as architecture, carpentry, community organizing, engineering, forestry, general construction, history, and youth volunteer coordinating, but my formal degrees are a Bachelor’s in History from Purdue University and a Master’s of Education from Harvard University. I eventually landed in the teaching profession and have truly found my passion and calling here. In addition to teaching in the classroom, I have held a few different administrative roles in admissions and advancement. My most recent position was serving as the managing director of a young international school in the Hamburg, Germany area. After 6 years of international adventure, my family and I are excited to be continuing our international school journey at IST. My favorite pastime is watching my children on the sports field or getting out and playing myself. I love to travel and explore the world with my family, and you can always convince us to try out a new restaurant or foodie experience. I am eager to get to know each and every one of you Trailblazers and learn about your stories too!
