Ms. Schwettmann came to IST with decades of international teaching experience, having lived and taught in the United States, Spain, Nigeria, Japan, and Mexico. Her global perspective and passion for language and culture help create engaging learning experiences that encourage students to become confident communicators and globally minded citizens.

She earned two bachelor’s degrees from Texas A&M University and a Master of Arts from the University of Houston. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to fostering curiosity, cultural understanding, and a lifelong appreciation for the diversity of our world.

Outside of the classroom, Ms. Schwettmann enjoys running, camping, hiking, kayaking, traveling, and spending time outdoors. Her adventurous spirit and love of exploration reflect the same curiosity and global mindset she encourages in her students.
