Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Ms. Knaggs joined IST in 2022 after teaching English Language Arts for two years at a public charter school in Austin. Since then, she has taught MYP Humanities, coached cross country and track, served as a grade-level advisor and yearbook coordinator, and developed several innovative MYP courses, including Mythology, History Through Film, and Medical Studies.
Ms. Knaggs graduated summa cum laude from Beloit College with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and a minor in Journalism. During college, she was a camp counselor, writing tutor, daycare teacher, editor-in-chief of the college newspaper, and captain of the women’s cross country and long-distance track teams.
Outside the classroom, Ms. Knaggs is a published and award-winning nonfiction writer. She is passionate about inspiring students to think critically, communicate effectively, and discover meaningful connections between history, literature, and the world around them.
