Elena Mazza

Ms. Mazza brings more than two decades of educational experience and a deep passion for inquiry-based learning to The International School of Texas. Originally from Warsaw, Poland, she has studied and taught across both Eastern and Western educational traditions, giving her a rich, global perspective that she loves sharing with her students.

She studied Russian Language and Literature at Moscow State University in Russia, earned her teaching credentials from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), and trained in the Singapore Math method in Singapore. Ms. Mazza holds a Master’s degree in Education and has spent her career divided between two rich contexts: ten years teaching at IB international schools in Kazakhstan, China, and Malaysia, and ten years teaching in public schools in Las Vegas, Nevada.

At the heart of her teaching is a deep love for children and a genuine desire to help them grow into open-minded, knowledgeable, and caring global citizens. She believes that while our world is vast and diverse, children and adults everywhere share the same longing for peace and understanding — a belief that shapes the warmth and care she brings into her classroom every day.

Outside of school, Ms. Mazza is an avid traveler who has visited more than 50 countries and is always planning her next adventure. She also enjoys reading and spending time with her family. “I am so excited to be joining The International School of Texas family. From everything I have seen and heard, this is a community built on curiosity, warmth, and genuine care for every child, and I cannot wait to grow, learn, and create meaningful memories together with our students and families.”

Ms. Mazza is inspired by the words of Mark Van Doren: “The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery.”
