IST’s Trailblazers Compete at Destination Imagination Global Finals Competition | Apr 01, 2022

The International School of Texas’ 4^th Grade Destination Imagination Team took 2^nd Place at the Texas State Competition in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday, March 26, and has qualified to compete at the DI Global Competition in Kansas City, Missouri, May 21-24, 2022.

“Destination Imagination is a perfect match for IST students.  Both DI and IST share the goals of empowering students to lead, to take risks, and to collaborate with creativity,” said Tim Reilly, Head of School at IST.  “Our DI Trailblazers are so dedicated and talented, and our entire IST community can’t wait to support and celebrate this achievement with their upcoming trip to Global Finals!”

The 4^th grade IST students competing at the Lone Star Destination Imagination State Finals are Luciano, Sienna Welch, Ksenia Cherkashin, Cole Robinson, Oliver Robinson, and Rishi Manne, and are being coached by volunteer and parent, Mr. Steve Welch.

Each DI Team works together to develop a solution to a specific Team Challenge, designing and creating 100% of their solution.  Teams present their Team Challenge solutions at DI Tournaments, where they also solve an Instant Challenge for feedback and scores from judges.  Team scoring is based on Team Challenge scores plus Instant Challenge scores.  Top placing teams are invited to the next level of tournament, culminating in the DI Global Finals!

Destination Imagination (www.destinationimagination.org) is a global community with the mission of inspiring and equipping youth to imagine and innovate through the creative process. 

IST’s Destination Imagination Team will head to Kansas City from May 21-24, for the DI Global Finals, where they will compete against teams from around the world. Join us in wishing our Trailblazers the best of luck!
