From Tim Reilly: Distance Learning Program Test Runs and Update, 3/24/2020 |

Dear IST Families,

Happy Tuesday!  As you know, today each class had a test run on Zoom before we go back to “school” tomorrow.  Thank you for sending in all of your photos from these Zoom sessions!  It was absolutely great to see our students so happy to see their teachers and classmates again.  More than ever, I am so proud to be part of this dynamic, supportive and resilient community. Please keep tagging those photos of IST Distance Learning on Facebook and Instagram using #logintoIST. In other exciting news, IST made it onto KVUE news this morning. Please go to our Facebook page to take a look.

On a less exciting note, as most of you have probably already heard, Austin / Travis County / Williamson County have issued shelter-in-place orders until April 13. Details can be found here.

As I have previously mentioned, our absolute priority is to provide a safe and enriching learning experience for our students that takes into account developments in the local COVID-19 response. To that end, we will be extending our distance learning program until at least April 13. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates via email and on the IST website, www.istexas.org

For today, rest assured that our distance learning program is off to a great start!  Our students and teachers are excited to get started,  and our amazing teachers are ready to continue distance learning as long as needed. Again, thank you for your support and patience.

Sincerely,

 Tim
