From Tim Reilly: IST Distance Learning Update, 3/18/20 |

Dear Families,

I hope you are all enjoying your spring breaks.  I know this is a challenging time, and I’m more grateful than ever for the amazing IST community.

Here is some important information about Login to IST, IST’s distance learning program, which will be implemented next week:

Monday, March 23:

Teachers will send out detailed information via email regarding distance learning schedules for all students.

Tuesday, March 24:

Teachers will introduce students and families to distance learning. They’ll also reserve time to help address any technical issues that arise.

Wednesday, March 25:

Distance learning officially begins.

Monday, April 6:

This is currently the date students are scheduled to return to IST in person.  We anticipate this date will be extended.  When that occurs, we will provide additional distance learning information and plans.

Materials Pickup:

If you have not picked up your student’s distance learning materials, you may do so tomorrow, Thursday 3/19, through Friday, 3/20, between the hours of 10 AM and 2 PM.  Please email c.bates@istexas.org to coordinate a pick-up time.

Technology Questions:

If you have technology issues, please email techsupport@istexas.org

IST Preparedness:

If you have questions about IST preparedness for COVID-19 or the school’s response to this pandemic, please email prepared@istexas.org

Learning-Related Questions:

If you have learning-related questions, please email your teachers directly.

Updated Information Online:

We have launched a COVID-19 update page on our website.  The link to current information on distance learning and IST’s procedures during COVID-19 is on the home page.  We will be constantly assessing the situation and providing timely updates on www.istexas.org.

NOTE:

Please know that it is our intent to provide up-to-date information concurrently via email and the IST website.  We’re constantly reviewing our systems to ensure that our distribution lists are updated and functioning correctly.  Please let us know immediately if you are aware of any families that have not received our email updates so that we can remedy the situation.  Thank you for your patience as we prepare our systems and processes for distance learning.
