your child’s future

STARTS HERE.

Thank you for your interest in the International School of Texas!

Our learning community welcomes children from both local and international communities who reflect the racial, cultural, and religious diversity of the wider world.  While most students join us at the beginning of the academic year, we may also be able to offer admissions throughout the year, space permitting.

Our Junior Pre-K (JPK) program engages students aged 3-4 in the foundations of an international education.  Our JPK program features a student/teacher ratio of 8 to 1, enabling our educators to provide unparalleled interaction with and nurturing for our youngest students.

Our Primary Years Programme engages students in grades Pre-K through Grade 4.  PYP students are educated in our rigorous curriculum, modeled after the British National Curriculum and tailored to reflect state and national standards. As an International Baccalaureate school, IST nurtures and develops its students as caring, active participants in a lifelong journey of learning.

IST is also a certified IB World School for the Middle Years Programme (MYP), making it one of the few IB continuum schools in Central Texas.  IST students in Grades 5-8 are supported as they grow in our curriculum’s inquiry-led, interdisciplinary framework, which challenges students to think for themselves and take responsibility for their learning as they explore local and global issues and opportunities in real-life contexts.  Our student/teacher ratio is 8 to 1.

TODAY STARTS YOUR CHILD’S

EPIC JOURNEY.

We welcome prospective families to visit IST as their first step in the admissions process.  We would love for you to see our campus when it is filled with smiling, learning faces!  IST offers private tours for prospective families with our Director of Admissions.

Once your family has visited IST, the next step in the admissions process is to submit an application for admission and for your child to attend a personalized Visit Day.  On your child’s Visit Day, they will engage with their classmates and participate in that day’s curriculum and activities.  Visit Days provide an invaluable opportunity for our future students to relax at IST, make new friends, and have a great day of learning.

At the end of each Visit Day, we invite parents to sit down to chat with our Head of School and Admissions Team.  At that point, prospective families may have more detailed questions about life at IST or the admissions decision and timeframe.  We frequently enjoy these family meetings at the conclusion of a prospective student’s Visit Day.

Once a prospective family has completed these steps, the Admissions Committee reviews each application and offers enrollment to those selected to attend. Places are offered based on availability and an assessment of whether there is an appropriate fit between the child, the family, and the school. Siblings are given priority, although places cannot be guaranteed.

We invite you to contact our Admissions Office to learn more about the school, find out more about our admissions process, or to fill out an application.

We can’t wait to meet you!

SO HOW MUCH IS THIS GOING TO COST?

By investing in your child’s IST education, you are choosing to provide them with an atmosphere of nurturing and support as they begin their lifelong journey as global leaders and citizens.  We are a community of supportive, engaged staff, faculty, parents, and students, and we are dedicated to the success and happiness of every child in our family.  IST students transition beautifully to a wide range of public and private high schools, where they are well-prepared to continue their educational journey.

We know that choosing to invest in a private school education requires careful thought and planning.  If you have questions about tuition and enrollment, please contact Charissa Bates, Director of Admissions and Marketing.
