Christa Tracey is originally from Toronto, Canada. She lived with her family in Chicago, Houston, and Boston before settling in Austin. Christa graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development, and holds a Texas teaching certificate for grades 1-6.
For 5 years, Christa taught at a private school in Austin. There she developed a spiral framework of skills and concepts for K-5 Language and Writing curricula, adapted this framework to the Kindergarten and First Grade curricula and mentored new teachers. Christa has spent the last 10 years as a private tutor for students in preschool through 6th grade providing support and enrichment activities. She strongly believes in the quotation from William Spady, “All students can learn and succeed, but not on the same day in the same way.” Christa is thrilled to be returning to the classroom environment and becoming a valuable asset to the students and staff at IST.
Outside of school, Christa enjoys reading, yoga, traveling and raising her elementary aged daughter with her husband in the Lake Travis area.
